Margaret’s Miniatures

Margaret Stickney Kendall, the wife of William Sergeant Kendall, was a skilled miniaturist. The few miniatures of hers that can be located today are exquisite. However, most of her work has been lost. If you have a miniature with the initials “MK” in one of the corners, and you’ve wondered who made this lovely little piece, now you know. And please let me know! I have been trying for a long time to find her work. An example of the “MK” with which she signed her miniatures is in the photo on the right.

If you have any information or questions, please email me at anne.underwood at gmail.com.

On the left is one of her miniatures, called “In the Brook.”
